Hi, I’ve got a couple chickens that are sick. Black loose stools and one is keeping a eye closed tabs feathers ruffled and she’s so tired the other is very sick in the nesting box head hung and feathers ruffled I had a girl die the other day. The only thing that’s different is my neigbor behind us has. Style he sprayed his field with ???. My dogs got sick and now my chickens. I’ve done the nutri drench and I’ve dosed with ivermectin as instructed earlier today. And another one is making a bunch of noise and shaking her head some. No runny noses no noticeable anything except many have poop on their feathers and they did not have that until a couple days ago and more today. It’s very cold here so I could not get them wet. I did get as much stool off as possible. Everyone laid yesterday. I don’t know what to do. Please help if any idea of why she’d be holding one eye closed and so tired and the other is very sick. Won’t come out of box. No she’s not broody. Thanks so much

Can you ask the neighbor what they sprayed on the field, or what the spray does? The poop is unusually black. It make me think of blood or eating wood ash. You could try giving them a flush to rid the body of toxins,,or get some activated charcoal to treat for poisoning. If you lose a bird, I would ship it or take it in to your state vet lab for a necropsy. Her is a list of state vets to contact:
