Well, my 100 lb German shepherd SPAZ dog just killed....

Yeah, he's definitely a troublemaker! He's also very much a Velcro Dog. He is attached to me by an invisible leash, or something. I can't go anywhere without him being under my feet, which is quite a tripping hazard, he's such a big lug! He is definitely a "mama's boy" as I am home with him all the time. He is also our alpha dog, of the three dogs. He knows we are alpha to him though. He has to be reminded of it often though, especially when my husband wants to hug on me or something. Hershey thinks I am his and his only, and doesn't want to share with anyobody. LOL He grumbles, and talks and everything else. He can be on the floor and just knows when my husband sits on the bed next to me if he touches me or not. If he's just sitting there, no problem, but if he lays a hand on me, forget it, the dog just knows and tells everyone that mommy is being touched!!! He just doesn't like it. Then we have to remind him that HE is the dog, and put him in his place. He will actually nibble at my husband (kind of like flea biting nibble, if you know what I mean) and try and pull him away from me. He acts like he is playing, but we still have to let him know that it isn't the right thing for him to do. He just had sooooo much personality.

He and one of my Muscovy Drakes has a thing going on. The drake is Charlie, my soccer playing drake (see previous thread a few weeks ago, if you want to search it). Anyway, when I let the dogs out in the morning, I go out at daylight to let the ducks out of their coop. Charlie goes to the gate and Hershey goes to the outside of the gate, and they go at each other, with Hershey barking and Charlie hissing and wagging his tail. It's a big game they play with each other, trying to get at each through the fence. So far, it's a game, but I still have to watch them constantly while Hershey is out there with me, to make sure they don't hurt each other. I don't know if Hershey would hurt the duck on purpose, but he is just so big and rough, I don't want to take a chance on it. They love to play with each other though. He totally doesn't care about any of the other ducks, but he and Charlie and something else! LOL

Very funny. Dogs are great. I have a mama's boy too. My husband thinks it is funny when I am busy in the house Copper follows me everywhere then lays down, then I go to the next room and he follows me there. He starts to look at me like would you just sit down so I can get some rest. I tell him he doesn't have to follow me everywhere. When we play hide and seek with the kids they have an unfair advantage because all they have to do is look for Copper and I am there. I am always found first.

Get a splitter for your house--put 'his' hose on when you go out to use your hose to take care of the ducks. That way he can play all he wants and you actually get some work done, and maybe he'll leave the good hose alone.

PS He's a looker!

I have not read the entire thread, but I had a German shepherd exactly like that! She would bark incessantly while I sprayed off the concrete runs and make it impossible by getting in the way and "attacking" the water. The first few times I tried spraying her directly with the hose to stop her barking, but that only reinforced the behavior. I finally had to resort to taking her to the outdoor kennels while cleaning ... for my sanity and hers! OCD dog.
