What did you do in the garden today?

I mowed the rest of the yard today. I might rake up some of the grass later, after it's dried out, and use it for garden mulch.

I chopped off one of my chive clumps today. Cleaned it up and chopped it, bagged it and put it in the freezer. I got right at one and a half pounds into a gallon freezer bag. There's probably another 5 pounds of chives in the garden if I decide to harvest it.

The three week old baby chicks are outside in the coop now. I moved them out there this morning.

Gardening pregnant has become increasingly more difficult, but I feel accomplished today. I weeded an entire garden bed, fertilized my strawberry patch, and sprayed my three fruit trees with copper fungicide (wore a mask just in case). There's still a lot on my list, but that's for another day.

To any other pregnant gardeners out there - a small seat to use during weeding and a belly band work wonders! I thought I'd have to stop gardening altogether at this point, but these tools have helped me be able to get more done without over-exerting myself. :)
That factory has closed, but I remember the days. 9 months pregnant in July/August. BUT nesting kicked in and I was a harvesting, canning QUEEN!
Hang in there and don't over do. :)

I'm old but occasionally use a belly band for comfort to hold up an old belly. I'm not fat but childbearing does stretch the belly skin that seems to sag later & later w/ age. Save your band for use in later yrs. No use paying $$$ again for another band later in life.

Rolling garden seats are nice. I have a green one that holds small tools & a tote or pail. & I wear cargo pants for easy reach to my cell phone. Lately Ive been using my seated walker cuz it sits higher than my rolling garden seat so I can reach taller plants & tree branches for pruning. I got tired of hauling my folding chair around the yard!

Nice folding chair but no wheels!

Nice! That's a really nice chair on wheels. Mine is not as nice but gets the job done. It's a lightweight folding stool that has pockets I can lug my gardening tools out in. I actually got it at Aldi for $15! It has changed the game for me as I get further into my pregnancy.

I'm glad we both found tools that can help us continue to garden!

Ooh that's great! I hope this is how it goes for me too!! I feel a bit of nesting kicking in, but I've had a lot going on and haven't been able to squeeze in all the things I want to do to prepare (baby's room, canning, preserving, etc.). But I do feel this little extra boost of motivation some days that comes out of nowhere, so I think my full-blown nesting instinct may be creeping up on me soon. :) Maybe I will be the canning queen soon!

If you like baked potatoes , do yourself a favor make chive butter and freeze it. Just chopped chives and soft butter whipped and formed into how much you think you will use. I love this stuff!
