What did you do in the garden today?

Harvested and drying catnip for the cats. I try to have 7 qt jars filled of it before winter sets in. I'm not being trapped in this house all winter with this many cats without it! Lol. Picked some elder flowers for me to make tea with. The honeysuckle tea came out so good, thought I'd try it with the elderberry flowers. They sure smell good, like vanilla and licorice, hope it tastes good too.

Nice! That's a really nice chair on wheels. Mine is not as nice but gets the job done. It's a lightweight folding stool that has pockets I can lug my gardening tools out in. I actually got it at Aldi for $15! It has changed the game for me as I get further into my pregnancy.

I'm glad we both found tools that can help us continue to garden!
How many months are you? 1st baby? Girl or Boy? Please do be careful...the 9th month is a bear for getting around💕

I put my tomato plants outside on the deck railing a few days ago. They get direct sun until around 1pm and then shade the rest of the day. They're reaching for the morning sun, so I guess they're adjusting ok.
What variety tomatoes? Some varieties do well in cooler climate zones & some thrive in heat. My favorite are Better Boy hybrid & Roma in our zone. Sun Gold cherry or other random red cherry varieties are mostly for the chickens.

my mother used to make elderberry flower juice/syrup without cooking. it was great.

I planted a lot of tomato seeds for starts this year. I'm always afraid that half won't come up or a mouse will get in and eat the seeds, etc. This year, I had only 2 pots (out of about 85-90) that didn't sprout. That's some kind of record for me.

I planted about 30 pots of my best two canning tomatoes, and I lost track of which was which, so I just call them by both names. Hungarian Heart and Italian Heirloom, abbreviated on the pot as HHIT. They got really lanky, and the stems are U-shaped. The same thing happened to some of the variety called Anna. The Ace 55 are lanky, but standing up. The Black Krim are shorter, stockier, and straight.

I'll be planting the lanky ones DEEP, that's for sure.
