What did you do in the garden today?

Auroras were incredible tonight, didn't even need the phone to see them, they were screaming bright to the naked eye.
Incredible.

I'm a bit behind. I've picked tomatoes...lots of tomatoes! They're delicious. Brought my pepper plant in, it has 8 peppers on it! So far so good.

I've been juggling alot this week, work, playing catch up at home, trying to get stuff ready for a yard sale on Saturday. It got nippy here last night, in the 40s, so I did turn the heat on. Also, I saw the beautiful Aurora Borealis last night.

Had a visitor yesterday...from Florida. I've never seen this type bug before, not in Delaware, anyway. We've had several insects, normally found in the Carolinas, living here for a few years now. So add a Florida Stink bug to the mix? 🙄

(Go back to Florida dude, we really have enough of our own local stink bugs)

Nice!!! We tried, could see faint ones with camera. Maybe they were better later -we checked around 10 pm.
I was outside at sunset & noticed a pretty sunset, but then there was a hot pink hue...nowhere near west sunset, but rather north, then it began moving & flowing, like giant colorful hot pink ribbons blowing in a breeze, in the northern sky, that also shimmered with yellows, greens, violets & blues. Reminded me of a rainbow that suddenly decided to break free & dance! It was most vivid at sunset & thereafter, til about 8pm. At least that's when it was most visible here in Delaware, Mid Atlantic Region. Try again tonight, they say it is easier to see near sunset or sunrise. Best to use the cell phone camera. Good luck! 🤞

See if you can get some guaifenesin in a pill form, not Mucinex. I had chronic URI growing up and learned to just chug Robitussin despite the taste. I'd still use it but they make it with corn and high fructose corn syrups, so I had to stop.
I've got the pill form, but it is a nasty pill. They should offer it in capsule form. I've never seen capsule form around here, if they already do. Even capsules do not totally hide the smell or taste though. There is some kind of antibiotic capsule I had to take years ago, that crap was nasty, too. I am a human bloodhound. I smell & taste intensely. Not even covid hindered it. 😆

Frost is in the forecast for Monday/Tuesday. I work weekends so today was the day for closing the garden. I picked everything that looked edible. The pumpkins were not quite ripe but I think they are close enough to finish off the vine. I gave the chickens their last garden fresh salad of the season. And prepared 6 pepper plants for overwintering.

I also planted around 80 strawberries earlier this week. They were just transplants from all the plants they are spilling out the borders of my strawberry patch. I have been mowing over them all summer and they keep coming back so I figured I would try giving them their own space to live. I planted them in 2 40 ft rows. I want to try long rows so I can harvest them without walking on top of plants.
