What did you do in the garden today?

I mulched the garlic an multiplier onions yesterday. Today I set up the tables in the green house. It'll be several months before I start anything up there, but I want to get stuff set up.

I'm still covering the bean plants. No temps in the upcoming week that two sheets can't handle, based on what's happened so far.

I overdid it today. I was feeling better so I got to work! I created most of my bulb garden patch!!! And, without realizing it, created a swale at the same time!

Then I got carried away and used the hula hoe to loosen the surrounding soil to plant more clover.

I used a shovel to double dig the native soil, which is sandy loam. Then added cow manure compost, mulch, lots of rice hulls, fertilizer, azomite, and powdered sulfur. Turned all of that in and hoe'd it into a row finishing it with a hard rake.

I wish I had taken proper before photos.

I now know that a tiller would have already paid for itself.... 😑 My back is angry. 😂

You're a hero! I remember taking lunches to school wrapped in waxed paper. Paper grocery bags have made a big comeback here in Australia, with most supermarkets having now stopped using the plastic. Ive always used cloth bags and my mother always carried a cane basket.

I keep a cloth bag in my car so I can use it for shopping. I grew up with cloth bags.

still no rain here. if we don't get snow this year I'll be worried about water supply.

My cherry tree is confused.... 🥴🤣

so is my apple tree. I picked flowers and hope for no damage. while blooming trees contain a lot of water. hard frost kills them. if my tree does not go to "sleep" before frost I must find a way to protect it. thinking about rubber water pipe.

I use the plastic bags to pickup after the dog, dispatched varmints, rotten eggs that didn't hatch, kitchen garbage bag.....

eggs that didn't hatch can be boiled for at least 30 minutes and fed to animals (poultry, dogs, pigs, etc). if you don't have a pot for that you can burry them in your garden or around the trees. great fertilizer.

We reuse the dog food bags as poop collection bags when cleaning up the dog poop in the yard. The same bag that provides the input provides for the output. I'm sure the garbage man dislikes picking up our trash!

dog poop can be used as orchard fertilizer. it does not affect the fruits (unless they fall on it). I burry dog and cat poop near the trees.

I stumbled across a You Tube video today, it was about how garlic, ginger and red chili peppers (Capsaicin) lowering blood pressure. After watching this video, I asked my Copilot A1 to give me a break down of High blood pressure in different races and it's interesting to note that Koreans has the lowest numbers and Copilot pointed out, it's because they consume a lot of garlic, ginger and red chili peppers (Capsaicin).
