What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

... Can I train the dog to bite trespassers on the lawn?? 😅 (I'm kidding, I'm just here to rant a little).
Someone went entirely out of their way to come up onto our private front door sidewalk in order to cut through the half foot deep snowy yard all the way to the public sidewalk on the other side of the street when there were entirely shoveled sidewalks all the way there... Which were the sidewalks they used to get to our yard in the first place. 😶 People keep cutting through and it's making me pretty mad. I just don't know what to do about it, I've always lived in the country and now we're on a corner lot in a suburb. Hopefully having a dog will give us an alarm bell and I'll be able to catch them in the act and ask them to use the nice, clean, wide open, safe, hazard free sidewalk. 😂

Awwwwwww they sound amazing
They are very challenging critters to "train". I hesitate to use that word. It's not training in the sense of dog training. Some hybrids are totally not suited to be around humans in a family setting. It all depends on how wild their "spirit" is. Those beautiful souls are best in a wolf sanctuary! I was very fortunate to be able to work with these boys. I don't recommend anyone go out and get a wolf/dog puppy based on what I wrote. They are beautiful but can be very deadly unless you know what you are doing.

Oh yeah, I definitely wouldn’t just go get one. They’re illegal here anyway. But I just think they sound amazing is all lol

What breeds do you guys like for guarding your flock that are outside of the norm? Has anyone else had a pitbull mix that was good? My dog is a mix, I think possibly pitbull, boxer, and shortcoat St. Bernard (I will never find this exact mix again! Lol) that I got on discount at the local pound. I didn't even have chickens when I got him and didn't know I would, but he has turned out to be an excellent livestock guardian. He won't touch my chickens, but will chase and instantly kill any trespassing animal (except cats) on our property. Pretty good for a $1 dog.

What dogs have you had that turned out to be good livestock guardians?
