AwwwwwwwwI'll take on too today. I miss mine.
We are starting to take him out, put him in his cage for a bit, then take him out again. If he goes then, he can stay out, and if he doesn't, he will stay in his cageI am pretty sure someone has already said this, but I would NOT allow him to wander the house. I would have in the crate when you are not paying attention to him or leashed when you are
He is always leashed outside, it's not possible to crate off a certain section because he is just so big that nothing will stop him besides a full blown fenceDo you leash him when going outside?
Id crate off a section of your house dont let him go around the full house. Have him on a schedule going outside at certain times.
Thanks for all the suggestions! Yeah, we do repeatedly say "go poop" over and over, and act like someone saved the earth once he goes poop lol. Yeah we do take him out for long long walks, and he has short hair so it wouldn't be possible to leash him out in the cold- even if we did, he howls SO DARN LOUDCan you stay outside until he goes? Or teach him a command to go like “go potty” or “hurry up” then correct when he doesn’t go right away? But you would have to be sure he REALLY REALLY knew the command first and if he’s truly that dumb then it might be hard… I’d try to give him longer outside and/or leash him out there. And then crate him inside or section off a section of the house.
I understand how frustrating it is But I REALLY REALLY think that you could have him potty trained in two weeks max by never allowing him the opportunity to make a mistake. Even if he does go outside and then you let him wander around the house, you are asking for an accident. I really think you should keep him leashed and with you in the house and watch him like a hawk if he is not in the crate. Sorry every one is bombarding you Good luck!!We are starting to take him out, put him in his cage for a bit, then take him out again.
