Well, I wormed my girlsa few months ago for Cecal worms. It was the only worms they displayed. Today new worms.

What are these? You can see their movement pattern across the photos.

That seems pretty close.... 🤔

These are shorter and less active. But it was cold outside (65°)

What is the best dose and treatment length using the safeguard goat dewormer?
As posted in #3 you want to use Praziquantel to treat Tapeworms.
You can find Equimax horse paste at stores like TSC. Dosing is in the post. 👇
Looks like tapeworm segments or proglottids. The best thing to use for treatment is praziquantel which is found in Equimax horse paste. Dosage is 0.16 ml for a 5 pound chicken. Repeat that in 14 days. Other products with praziquantel are Zimectrin Gold or Droncit

I'm not giving you credit, but I get way too many byc notifications, so, you get credit ish.🤣

Thank you for the quotes! And thank you @Eggcessive for that quick and thoughtful guidance.

We have such a great community here!

I use prazipro for my fish, so I may use that if the dosage lines up! Been a few years since I've needed to use it. 🤔

I'm 100% I got these buggers from my chicken sitter who watched my girls back in September. They have problems with this same parasite and haven't been treating their flock with prazi.... So this makes perfect sense. Now I can help their flock as well. 💚

Dosage of praziquantel is 10-20 mg per kilogram (each 2.2 pounds) given orally and repeated in 10-14 days. You may not need to treat all chickens, but only the ones where the tapeworm segments are seen. They can get tapes when they eat their droppings that contain the eggs, and also by eating the intermediate hosts of tapeworms. Those can include earthworms, grasshoppers, flies, beetles, snails and slugs. The ones in your picture look green because of the bile in the dropping.

LOL No credit needed, just didn't want you to grab Safeguard when you need Praziquantel.

It can be a challenge managing 100+notifications a day, I feel ya!

Yeah Prazipro is only 2mg/L in the suspended solution so that's not going to work. Hah.

My girls eat a lot of bugs. So that is just going to be a thing for me I guess. They free range most days.

I wanted to ask about the bile; is that an effect of the tapeworm? Or should I be concerned about another illness?

What about their eggs between/after dosing; can we eat them or is there a withdrawal period we should observe?

Thank you so much.
