Why are my chickens dying?

They get a layer feed from the mill, I don’t give them oyster shell. Do they need that too? The mash I get from the mill was supposed to have everything they need, or at least that’s the impression I got when I was switching them from the Purina feed I used to get from tractor supply. They free range from 630 am until they go in on their own at night.
Well I'm thinking the balance in nutrition is lacking and I'd only free range a couple hours a day. I feed my birds a Grower finisher feed and supply Oyster shell once a week. Mine get a small treat twice a week and free range about 2 hours a day.

I have another one that is still alive with something hanging out but it’s just long and kind of looks like mucus. I was thinking to treat them all for coccidiosis but they don’t have bloody diarrhea or any of the other symptoms. Is it possible that they could still have that?

Ok that’s good to know. I’m going to see if I can track down the one from this morning and get a pic.

I would provide oyster shell free choice for them. Just put it in a container inside the run, they will take what they need.

Did you catch up with the hen that has something hanging out of her vent? Photos?

Can you gather her up?
That needs to come on out, gently pull. Get some photos of what comes out.

Have you ever had respiratory illness in your flock?
Photo of the nutritional analysis (content) of your feed may also be helpful.

I am so sorry for your loss its never fun to lose your ladies or gents. I have never heard of something like this before but when my birds get sick I usually put apple cider vinegar in their water and give them some greek yogurt to help try and give their immune system a boost. Best of luck to you!

Today of all days. I also have a preschooler with a stomach bug, so I’m getting nasty stuff inside the house too. I’m feeling a little queasy now lol
I will add some more pics of her once I get that out. I haven’t noticed any respiratory illnesses in anyone. I’ve only had them since May (I know, I’m not off to a good start) but they’ve all seemed healthy until now. I don’t have a bag of feed right now with the nutritional analysis but the website for the mill says that it’s crimpt grains, proteins and minerals. That’s probably not helpful but I figured I’d throw it in there anyway lol
