Worst chicken breed

I pat my arm and say "up". But I would have to guess that me patting the arm is more what tips her off.

That's cool that your do it with eye contact only!
Maybe. You should try saying up without the patting! Yeah, its eye contact when they aren't already on my headšŸ¤£ I honestly have a hard time keeping them off me. Sometimes I regret teaching that.

That's hilarious! And yes, I too sometimes regret spending too much time making my chicks think I'm their mother. As they got older, it just made them think they could walk all over me lol.

I'll try just saying "up" next time and see how it goes! However, I fear that either way I do it I will be giving a physical prompt because I have to put my forearm horizontal for her to jump on it.

But they are sooo cute!! šŸ˜‚ Yeah, I though about that. I've never done it but I'm nearly certain that if I held my arm out without making eye contact they would probably still jump.

Lol this has to be the funniest comment on the thread
Yeah. He (the meat roo) only had one hen, a bluebell named Robin, who would sneak under the fence into his isolation pen. (He was surprisingly aggressive.)
He once tried to mount her, but ended up standing overtop of the hen, with his foot pinning her wing to the ground. He then stared straight ahead, as if to say,
ā€œWell I got her, now what?ā€

The bluebell was ok, and eventually the rooster moved and she was able to slide back under the fence. She actually continued to visit the meat rooster until he was culled, in part for Christmas dinner, but also because that broiler bird was mean, and dumb as a box of rocks.

Buff orpingtons. Not all orpingtons. Just buff ones. They just suck because they're ugly. :)
What?!?! Youā€™re saying this sweetie is ugly??šŸ¤£
