Wound below vent / dog attack

Hello friends. Writing with shame for not being able to keep my chicken safe. I had clipped her wings and she somehow made it into the yard anyway and was attacked by a dog. This happened four days ago. Since then she has continued eating and drinking I have been following the advice on this forum to care for her at home (Vetricyn). She has a kennel in the spare room while she recuperates. Today I took her out to give her an epsom salt soak and noticed that the area that has been torn open looks a bit like an egg, and feels like a shell. From what I understand about chicken anatomy, an egg should not be in this area, below the vent, but I am concerned that the trauma may have shifted things. Any ideas from these images? It is the yellow part below that vent that I am concerned about.

It looks like it's healing, how does it smell? I would trim the feathers, clean with saline, then slather with plain antibiotic ointment.
Thank you, I will do that. It doesnt seem to smell like infection, more like poo since its not falling to the ground and instead kind of staying on the vent. Ive been wiping her with a wet paper towel to remove it periodically.
