Coppers are starting to hatch. Spotted one working its way out this morning.
I was beginning to worry as yesterday was hatch day and saw no signs of life except her soft clucks.
This one has been struggle, but looking at my calendar...She started with 6 of Ravens eggs on Thursday the 3rd. Immediately 2 eggs got broke the next day (Mess). I put 2 more eggs under her on the 5th bringing it back to 6. 3 more eggs have been broke since. (Mess x2). Leaving her with 3 messy eggs cleaned up as best I could and it is what it is now.

So that puts hatch day starting yesterday thru Saturday plus for her if all 3 don't hatch.

Oh absolutely....because I separated them at lockdown and they're leg banded.

What do you use to leg band your chicks?

I use zipties. The 4" smallest on chicks to start. As they get older I change them out for the longer ones that are wider.
