It finally happened! Daisey the mystery chicken laid her first egg. Good job Daisey!!!
Daisey is the first chicken my wife and I have ever even seen up close. We found her down at the beach at our new house a couple months ago in Minneapolis city proper (which is a strange place to "find" a chicken) and decided to make her our new pet after exhausting all avenues to find her original home and discovering how sweet and funny a chicken can be. Well a couple months later, a couple illnesses later, 2 more chickens and close to $xxx invested in housing and supplies (I can't say how much just in case my wife reads this post, he he) and our sweet little Daisey just reminded us that she can do more than just be a sweetheart and "manage" the other girls. We are so proud of her for surviving and thriving the way she has especially since she doesn't even have a top beak. Go Daisey!!!
My lovely wife with Daisey's 1st egg.
Daisey on the floor in the middle of her new coop with Bluebell the Blue Cochin on the ledge on the right and Buttercup the EE in the back on the left.
Daisey shortly after the coop build started, she now has a much more developed comb, she must have been only a few months old when we found her.
