Went to assist an egg that hadn’t hatched and was 48 hours late. In the process the quail chick died. It was barely moving to begin with. It was one of my celadon eggs 😭
Some of the SSC are growing so much slower than the rosettas. I’m going to make sure I only keep SSC females with Rosetta males and SSC males with Rosetta females. I don’t want to have weird feet, albinos, or chicks that can’t thrive... to me that’s not good especially if you’re looking for a...
I’m trading quail chicks for quail eggs 😂 Rosettas hatched great so I will be using them to trade. I’ll keep maybe 5.
The eggs I’m getting are from someone who got my scarlet/range and SSC. Can’t wait to see what hatches.
I’ll find out. I think I have 30 something in this new hatch. Most are the Rosetta and I’m not going to keep all of them that’s for sure. I may sell all the hens though once I know they’re hens. I want to wait until the start laying or crowing. I’ll split them into 3 cages
Using the water cups on a gallon water jug. So far the quail love it! Great deal I got on amazon that’s for sure. It’s going to help a lot when we go on vacation.
I don’t know how I lucked out with 2 boys and 8 girls. I just chose the colors I liked at 3 weeks then sold the rest.
My albino is thriving!!! Acts just like the others and is growing great.
I’m going to be butchering some at the beginning and end of august. I only want two boys with each...
I have been hatching chicken for 9 months straight and just started hatching quail a few months ago. I’m working on my quail breeders right now so I can have fertile eggs to hatch all the time.
That quail that hatched yesterday is hanging out with the other quail in the brooder. It took no time for it to find the food and water. It’s so darn cute! I’m excited for the others to start hatching.
