I'm curious to hear what you think Sean. Will you be using it soon?
My chicken eggs should arrive today for the HAL, so I'm going to be able to use it start to finish on this hatch.
Hi all :frow
2 more peeps hatched over night and one is zipping now. 27/31 so far, not bad. I set 45 eggs, tossed 14 clear/early quitters at day 10. I'm leaving the last 4 eggs until tomorrow unless I see pips. I need to clean the incubator for chicken eggs by end of month.
:gig I wouldn't have spent the money but I got it as my one special treat for myself with my annual bonus from work. The rest paid bills and bought coop materials for the chickens I'll be hatching next.
About 130. I did the zippy shipping too so closer to 150 but I would buy another. It is a little bit finicky but the humidity is much more stable than adding manually.
I wrote a review.
We were thinking the same thing. Hubs will make a hole in the side before I put in the next batch of eggs and we'll test it out first to see how it goes.
Yup. I added it after the eggs started incubating though.
The tube is corrugated and expands which then collects water. I noticed water dripped in the bator and changed the setup a little so it's not so much now. More so with the higher humidity for lockdown.
:eek:That is a lot of incubators!
I've thought about a cabinet model but can't justify the expense since I don't hatch 100s of eggs. I'm thinking about starting a side hustle with my sons gf to sell chicks each Spring so that may change :idunno
You're not the first person to say this honestly. It makes me keep a close eye on the thermometer when I'm hatching.
Are cabinet models more reliable? Or are you still using foam?
