use a fish net...don't whack them...lol
or wait until they go to roost and catch them when they are sleeping.
less stressful than chasing them around the pen.

I have purchased what I was "told" were 5 month old pullets. I have had them about a month and one looks a little suspect. Its larger than the other, but they are a few weeks apart in age. They are EE.
No crows or aggressive or breeding behaviors. No eggs, but its hot...
Rescue dogs are touch and go in the easiest settings. Farm animals around herding/hunting dogs is especially trying.
I have 2 suggestions - maybe one will work for you.
1. Return the dog sooner rather than later. The older a dog gets, the more difficult to place. Your experience will help...
I think I have the same birds! They were from a batch from a feed store that was supposed to be Production Red.
I think one has finally started laying(I have other chickens) I had them for 6 weeks. They were supposed to be 3-4 months when I got them.
I was thinking Cornish x RRI?
I am told that these pullets are Welsommers and a Black Sex Links.
The black one is the one that confuses me....she does not appear to have tail feathers?
Any opinion or confirmation?
And are they really lady birds? lol
