Hello Everyone
I guess I'm not sure where to start. I grew up on a ranch as a child where we had chickens. As I grew up we moved off the ranch during my teen years. I have 6 older brothers, so I pretty much stayed in the house doing inside chores with mom.
I now live on a pretty good sized...
I would love to join, but can't guarantee anything right now. I've had a job change and am manager of Hot Stuff, and the store at a local gas station. I get up by 5 am and am off to work until 3 pm or later. Don't feel like doing much after I get home from work. Let me think on it and if I...
Hi guys I have 5 Pure Bred Rat Terriers for Sale. They have been docked and dew claws removed, dewormed. No shots yet, but am working on it. I will post pictures as soon as I can. I have 4 females and 1 male left out of a litter of 8. They were born on June 24, 2008. Please contact me via...
Hey everyone, just thought I'd drop in for a visit, as it's been a long time since I visited. Here's what my summer's been like. I lost my job as secretary of a church, went to work for my hubby in the hay field, started a job more local part time. I'm working at a gas station.
I've been...
Hello, not from those states, but thought I'd let you guys know that South Dakota is flooding too. We had around 7" of rain last week, and had around 4" lastnight.
Here's an update, I pulled the roosters this morning. I came home and had 6 dead ones. They are with adult hens. They've been with them for the last few weeks. I am even loosing ones that are 12 weeks old too. This really sucks.
We cleaned the coop out last week, so they have a dirt floor...
Man the last few days has not been well on my chicks. We cleaned out the coop last Friday then it turned cold. The chicks that are 8 weeks have been running around with the chickens and no problems. That is until the last few days. I go in and there's at least 2-3 dead. I'm thinking it's...
I gased up this morning before the gas went up and it was going up to $3.83 and Diesel is $4.61 or better. Thank goodness I gased up this morning. I don't remember what it was this morning.
I am so ready to start using my horse, but it would take me all day to get to work then to come home...
I'd seen where some people did it. I like your idea Julie. The moisture was what I was wondering about. If Julie had success I think I might try it also. Thanks for the input everyone.
I am wondering if I can put my chicken eggs in with my duck eggs in the incubator? I started the duck eggs yesterday and am planning on putting in chicken eggs next wednesday. Let me know what you guys think.
I have about a doz duck eggs that I just put in this morning.
I do have a question for you guys. Can I put my chicken eggs in with the duck eggs or will the humidity be too high for them?

Julie, I didn't see your chicks on raising chicks, sorry haven't been around the computer much lately. Have a few moments today to get on at work, otherwise I've been busy, or gone.
I got my squares yesterday, actually Monday they were at the PO, but never made it that far on Monday. We moved some cow/calf pairs to the pasture on Monday, and am getting ready for branding this weekend.
I don't think there is any way I can participate in the charity crochet til fall...
I had 33 in the incubator and 20 hatched out, lost 3. Two of them weren't fully developed the rest were, but didn't pip. Not sure what happened. Lost my two silkies that hatched out. I'm still happy for the ones that I hatched out. They are cute.
