Does anyone have any Midnight Majesty Marans? Preferably from Hoover Hatchery. Just curious to see how yours looks compared to mine and the color of the eggs they lay.

That’s what I’m afraid of. I’ve been trying to convince myself he’s a she since he hasn’t crowed yet but I can’t ignore that crown and those saddle feathers anymore.

I have a 3 month old Ameracauna cockerel that I recently discovered was in fact male. He has never crowed. I introduced him with 4 other chicks to my main flock about a month ago and he’s at the bottom rung of the pecking order. No other roosters in the flock. Are Ameracaunas a quiet breed? Or...

You may be right. I bought her from Meyer Hatchery and they sell Andalusians. She definitely resembled the day old chick in their stock photo.

I have a 4 week old chick that is supposed to be a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. I’m starting to have doubts as she looks splash to me and has the wrong comb type for a Wyandotte as well as black legs. Pics at 2 days old versus today.

I'm not familiar with the breed but I'm going to say pullet just based on how yellow the comb still is
