They don't break down as quickly as everything else, but they are really small anyway. They give the compost some nice structure and my garden seems OK with it. I just wait until the compost is of uniform consistency and has no remnants of anything other than the chips, and it works great! I...
We are in the fog belt of coastal CA, and the sunny parts of the run are still not popular! It can be 45 degrees and they'll still all crown into the shady part of the run.
I agree it depends on where you're at, but it may be best to include some of each regardless.
They are beautiful!! We have a four month old boxer puppy who already weights over 50 pounds! We look at his paws every day and marvel at this enormous creature. We "reserved" a puppy when we found out this lady in our twon was going to breed and had the second pick. Beau is a fawn with a black...
I don't get it. Do they mean put the mold and egg in a bowl of HOT water? Does it cook through? I was coveting the lunch boxes. How soupy of food do they contain in real life?
Ummm, I love lip balm and am quickly building a serious habit. If I buy lip balm and hide it from my husband, does that make it a problem?
OBTW, the funny lip balm article someone posted a link to on the previous page of posts has an interesting ending...
I do a soup mix in a nice cellophane bag. I figure there is so much sweet stuff at Christmas and not enough time, so if folks can dump a mix in a pan with water they'll save some time for other things! We get good reviews, but it is hard to tell if folks are just being nice. It has lentils...
We have aplstic flor and have had no chewing issues. We have it on concrete blocks simply becuase it is on a hill and they level it out. If a rat wants in, he can just walk in through the pop-door!
Raw or cooked. Mine love leftover quinoa, especially with tomatoes mixed in (I think I'll go make some now!). Not sure why cooked grains would be different than raw, but sprouted would likely be the best of all...
They can certainly have the leftover and scraps from these animals. HOWEVER, I would throw away the mussels that were open before you cooked them. They are no good for anyone!
It is a little creepy, but probably just fine. There are crop issues sometimes but if it is not really big (like you can see it across the yard) and they have energy you are fine. Actually, just the fact that they are all the same should set your mind at ease!
Right, they can grind it up in their gizzard. Amazing but true! Consider that these things will eat a whole lizard, mouse, etc, and it is not so far fetched to eat a sunflower seed.
Absolutely, most estimates will be for meat birds or leghorns. Meat birds have huge appetites to fuel that quick growth.
I have two white leghorns and they lay an egg almost every single day (they're only a year old) but they are skinny little things! I bet they weigh half what a golden sex...
