Pros: Incredible meat bird VERY fast growers
Cons: Can have leg problems, dumb as a rock.
*this review is mostly for the jumbo version of this breed*
Great birds for eating..growth rate is amazing!
Do not buy these birds as pets. They are bred for eating and to not do so within 12 weeks is in my opinion, cruel. They grow very fast and if kept past 12 weeks or so get grotesquely huge. They can be amusing in that they are dumb as rocks and have no fear of humans or for that matter anything else.

Pros: Males are quite attractive, females are ok
Cons: Flighty, not really friedly
Nice birds to keep for their interest. Males mature very fast and are quite attractive. Hens just kind of fade into the back ground of your flock and are not very noticable. Good foragers and can be very flighty.
Pros: Beautil roos, non aggressive,
Cons: can be flighty
I love these birds. The roos are some of the most interesting. Both have the cup combs. They are not super friendly but not overly afraid. Great fliers so make sure you have a top on your run. I will get more of them soon.

Pros: Very beautiful ornamental
Beautiful birds not very hardy, I personally think they should be kept as a breed and not mixed in with other breeds. My experience is that they weren't very hardy.
Pros: Friendly, Decent Layers
Cons: There may not be an uglier chicken
I have raised these in the past and they are pretty nice birds. I just can't get past how ugly they are.

These birds should be raised by those people who go to the pound and adopt the ugly puppy with mange and three legs.

LOL...they attract a LOT of attention from visitors. Before they visit I can tell you what everyone will ask..."What the hell is that thing?"

Pros: Beautiful
Cons: Flighty and not very hardy.
I have raised these in the past, very beautiful but in my experience they weren't very hardy. I think they would be best raised in their on pen away from other breeds. Just MHO.

Pros: Very pretty, good forages
Cons: can be flighty
I have raised a few through the years and always enjoyed them. Decent layers of white eggs. Can be hard to confine if you don't have a top on your lot. They love to forage and are good flyers.

Of the white egg layers, these are among my favorites. Very pretty, hardy and I think they are among the best layers of large white eggs.

Pros: Hardy, Great egg layers of ex large brown eggs.
Cons: Some can be a little aggressive but not a problem
This is the bird that most people get when the purchase Rhode Island Reds from hatcheries or the local feed store. Great birds for the back yard flock. Attractive and amazing layers of ex large brown eggs. Friendly and totally unafraid of humans. Some can be a little aggressive to other birds but I have never had a problem with them. Mine are right at the top of the pecking order.

Pros: Stands out in a crowd.
Very unique ornamental. They kind of mind their old business but they aren't shy. Mine get along well with the rest of the flock. Visitors are totally taken with them and they always get a laugh. I have raised a lot of Polish birds and have never had one aggressive roo. Average layers of smaller sized eggs.

Pros: Males are very beautiful
Cons: Can be hard to confine and a little flighty
One of my favorite breeds. Hens and roos are beautiful but the roos are especially beautiful. Average layers of med-small tinted eggs. Needs to be kept in a pen with a top or just allowed to free range. They are great fliers and can pretty much go wherever they like.

Pros: Very proud, active and beautiful birds
Cons: Screeching crow
I have golden and silvers and I have been in love with this breed since I was a kid. Some people say that they are fragile as chics but I have raised hundreds though the years and have not experienced that at all. The roos are hen feathered and can be a little loud. They love to crow and crow and crow. The sound is very high pitched and carries a very long way. I wouldn't recommend them for those who have sensitive neighbors.

Pros: Attractive, very pretty in the field.
Cons: Flighty
I keep Silvers just for their ornamental value...they are just fun to have around. Can be flighty.
Pros: Great service, nice birds, accurate sexing
I have bought from Murray McMurray for over 30 years. I have never had one bad experience with them. I have bought from other hatchers as well with less than stellar experiences. Murray McMurray is head and shoulders above the rest!

Pros: Attractive feathering, Love the 5th toe
I keep the salmon variety and just enjoy having them because of how different they are. 5th toe is always a conversation starter.

In my experience they have always been friendly and a nice addition to my flocks.
