    Growth on stomach

I need help identifying a growth on my hen. It looks like it could be a cyst from an infected wound. If anyone has had a similar situation I'd appreciate advice on how to treat it.

    Need help identifying breed

I just purchased a variety of female birds, including Italians, Japanese Coturnix, and a Texas A&M. This girl seems to be more flighty, and wild in personality. She's also lighter in color and has larger eyes than the Japanese.

    Mixing my flocks

I have 16 Coturnix hens I keep in 4 separate cages, and I'm about to put them all together into a big aviary. I'm worried that mixing flocks that have been established for over a year can cause fights, and potentially lead to injuries.

Just curious if this is common among Coturnix?

Found a random mini-egg while cleaning their dirt bath. Kinda want to crack it to see if there's a mini-yolk inside.

Does anyone know of any websites or...

    Coconut?

Has anyone given their birds a coconut to pick at? I was thinking I'd cut a few in half to hang in their cages, but I want to make sure they can eat them and not get sick.

    Quail droppings as fertilizer?

I'm just curious to see if anyone has any experience with using their bird waste as a fertilizer, or if anyone knows the best way to process their waste, other than just dumping it in the trash?

Any Coturnix Jumbo Brown breeders in Northern California?

I'm looking to add around 12-14 hens to my flock near Sacramento, CA. I built stackable cages with built-in dirt boxes, I am no-kill, and I spoil my girls with fresh fruit daily. Willing to travel several hours to pick up!

    New to raising Quail

I was given 4 Japanese Quail as a gift 4 months ago, and my wife and I love them like any other pets. Their eggs are delicious! We just moved from the north coast of California to the Valley. I'm hoping they'll be ok in this heat, since they did very well in the cold. Does anyone know what...
