I was just window shopping on the McMurray site and it looks like they're going to be offering chocolate orps next year so that might be an option if the birds you have now don't turn out how you want Moony

Going to be picking up some silkie eggs either this weekend or next, mainly because I want a few hens that will go broody come spring but also because my mom has gotten into the chickens and wanted a few of "her own". The little piggies are doing well, growing like weeds.

Looking at the Hoovers website under "Identify My Chick" those do look like the example given for their Chocolate Orps. Then again you got sent "ducklings" so who knows.

They're Belgian Watermaal, a true bantam (no large fowl version) closely related to the d'Anvers and d'Uccle.

All 8 chicks are doing well, growing like weeds. It looks like 7 out of 8 are at least het for crest which is nice and I'm fairly certain the one who didn't is a pullet so I'm not super worried about her. They're some of the most social birds I've ever handled, expressly one of the little black...

9/12 eggs that went into lockdown hatched! 7 white and 2 black. I forgot how much quieter and cleaner chicks are then ducklings.

12 eggs went into lockdown this morning. 2/14 not making it isn’t bad for shipped eggs but now comes the worst part, waiting.

at this point you might as well try and get it to 12 months just for the bragging rights

They're closely related to d'Anvers, they aren't super common in the US and are only ABA not APA (so far). I'm not sure whose picture this is, it's from the US club website.
