I can grab a 50# bag of layer at my local mill for $13. And they put it in the truck for me. Only thing is it’s not pelleted but my birds like it just fine

I like putting mine on puppy pads for the first day or two. Makes it easy to see if anything is wrong with their poo. Then they graduate to shavings or are sold if I’m not keeping thrm.

That is definitely odd. We have close to 50 hens and 3 roosters, and I’ve only had a handful of clears in all my hatches this year. One egg was a girl just coming off her molt, but the last few of hers I set were fertile.

My hatch date is next weekend. Still have 34 going at home (including some BBS Silkie eggs I bought), and another 12 in my classroom hatch.

Sold the last 24 in this batch today. Currently have 52 eggs going. Planning to keep the 8 silkies to start breeding them next year, rest of the EE mixes going to a local farmer who wants them all.

Ended up with 31 chicks! Set 41 new eggs yesterday & today.

Hatch day here as well! I have 29 so far, one internally Pipped, one externally Pipped, and two that are either DIS or malpositioned. Will candle them again once the two Pipped have hatched. All eggs left moved to small incubator so I can load up the 360 when hub gets back w my eggs. 😊

I would think $15 at least for a purebred 8 week old pullet.

Agreed. Sunday sets are most convenient.
