I have 3 raised boxes, and added 4 more along the floor. Just got round laundry baskets from dollar tree, and put a brick on each side to hold them in place. A few prefer the high ones, a few prefer the floor. Much less noise & complaining when someone is occupying a box now!

Wow that is a fast change in egg size! My two pullets are still at around 40g after a week or so. I don’t care how tiny, we need eggs here too! 😂 Is it just the pullets in that coop? You have older hens too, or no?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The stuffing came out good, smelled like stuffing but not a realistic fake lol. Chop 2 carrots, 2 celery stalks, 1/2 onion, mushrooms and sautee in oil. When onions are translucent, add chunks of cauliflower and sage/rosemary/salt, with 1 cup of broth. Cook...

I haven’t cold-proofed the coop & run yet, except for adding double pine shavings inside. Still have to get extra leaves & wood chips in the run, but it rained all weekend when I was off. Pulled my tomato and zucchini plants out in the rain, and then I had enough. Clear tarps for sides of run...

My husband does the same thing! He is a weapons trainer for his law enforcement job and gets so annoyed with cop shows and movies where they do everything wrong!

You are zone 5? Or 6? Those are awesome! I’ve been wanting to try growing sweet potatoes! Did you put them directly in the dirt? Do you need to mound them up like potatoes?

I actually decided to get my hunting license this year as well! They are offering an online class, and whatever help I need in person my hub can help with (he is a shooting instructor), and I told him if anything ever happened to him I’d want to be able to provide for myself & the kids...

Thanks! That’s really sweet of you! How big is the shallot part? We eat a ton of onions, and I do a lot of cooking, but I end up composting the green tops of our onions. I would hate to take them and not eat them.
