Doing a readback and saw this.
I had a potbelly that I acquired as an older pig. Not tame at all and not sure he was 100% potbelly. He was guilty of eating chickens. Thought I was having predator issues till I caught him in the act. Was able to contain him once I knew but he got even more...
Should go home to babies under my broody. She came off the nest last night while I was collecting eggs and I saw 1 external pip. She started with around 6 but I had issues with her cracking them when other hens tried using her nest. So she only has 2 left. Hopefully it goes well, this will...
My first go round sold within 1 hr of posting 2 months ago. Last months hatch I have sold 3 out of I think 25 or 26. They are 3 weeks old now just depends on the timing. Also depends on what they are. Mine are mixed layers so that makes a difference.
Don't think I posted a update here. Picked up some eggs sat to replace the ones I fried. 8 EE, and 3 dzn mixed color giant cochin. turner only holds 41 so total set was the 8 EE and 33 of the giant cochin. Broody is still sitting tight. Unfortunately she cracked 2 of the eggs she was on so...
Well I fried the 20 eggs I put in the bator wed night. Apparently neglected to plug the incubator into the temp controller but went straight into the power strip. Spent the first 24 hours of incubation at around 130F. Broody is still sitting tight on the nest so I'm hopeful her hatch will go...
Hmm. Its gonna be a struggle to incubate all three at the same time no matter how you approach it. Makes sense to try something different though. No advise for you unfortunately with the variety but I will look forward to updates.
Sounds like you have a gameplan that should work. Just out of curiosity what is the thought process or reasoning for wanting to switch to dry method. 10 out of 12 sounds pretty good?
Glad you got it figured out. I will still caution against the cardboard cartons. Even though you are using the "dry" hatch method you still have humidity in your incubator. Depending on the incubator used it will be closely related to ambient. You have ventilation and therefore will...
