Those almost look like self blue (lavender) ameraucana. Most splash chicks have some form of splashing early on, given the uniform coloring of those babies and the lack of any splashes, I'd say she didn't get splash ameraucana, but got self blue(lavender). She can look at the breeder directory...

She looks mostly blue or black, she'll probably have a small beard and muffs. She might end up being brown and speckled though. Post more pics when she is a few weeks old. :)

I promise you, those are not true Ameraucanas. I'm sorry the hatchery is misleading you and other customers with false information. You can find more info about the differences and the history of Ameraucanas at the Ameraucanasbreedersclub.org You'll also be able to find a list of reputable...

If she's an ameraucana she would have been sold with the variety listed. If you got her from a feed store or a seller that didn't advertise the variety, you likely ended up with an easter egger chick. It's a common error, especially when people call easter eggers Americanas/Americaunas or some...

You could cross lavender ameraucanas and wheaten ameraucanas. I wouldn't use blue wheaten or splash wheaten, or chocolates as they mess up the way lavender looks. Regular wheaten and lavender could be bred and worked into lavender wheaten which is quite pretty. There is another person working on...

Blue and chocolate can work together to make a color called mauve. Ultimately if things go well I will be able to produce Wheaten, Blue Wheaten, Splash Wheaten, Chocolate Wheaten, Mauve(blue+chocolate) Wheaten, and Mauve Splash(splash+chocolate) Wheaten. The first chicks from this cross will...

There is a Facebook group for people working on the chocolate ameraucanas, you could join it to try and get eggs or chicks. They are hard to come by that is for sure. Pictures of the mystery chick might help identify it.

I always crack my eggs that don't develop. Whether they were fertile or not is tough to tell, I used to think you could tell too, I think you can really only tell if they've developed for a couple days or more, if they never developed or were infertile maybe isn't possible to know once they've...

They would have tiny combs. If you part the fluff on their head you should be able to see them.

What kind of comb do they have? If it's spiky then I would guess that they are cream legbars.

Those look like the patterning you would see on autosexing cream legbars. Are you sure they weren't cream legbars?

Thank you. They had ILT and MS. I only actually lost one bird to the disease. I culled one for a necropsy to find out why they were sick, the boys I lost because of the timing of the report. So all 6 of my boys were culled and donated to be eaten by a friend. They were completely recovered by...

I feel that way when I look at her a bit too only because I had a splash boy that hatched with her that I had to put down when all my boys were reported. I'm sorry you lost your splash girl, she is among my faves. It's such a hard color to capture.
