1st one is an EE. I got 2 in my box, one is now grey and the other one is brownish but you can tell by the puffy cheeks. 2nd one is either the Wyndotte or another barred. I have both 3rd I have as well and am stumped as to what they are. 4th not sure either. I know they are not grey...
I sort of wanted to say that I am happy with all that I got from the surprise. It took 3 months to get them after I payed for them, however they gave me 53 chicks, I was expecting 40. So I actually ended up with more then what I wanted however 2 were dead on arrival. 1 died yesterday which now...
We got 1 chick just 2 days ago that looks like this one we named it Jesus. The reason is on the back f his head, however cackle shows this breed as being grey not white with the black markings so which is it? I am still stumped but yours looks just like the one we have
Luckily I wont be ordering again until spring. But I read on another thread they were closed down. Not sure why??? Or maybe they had hatcheries mixed up??
Someone said cackle was closed down, and wont be open until November. I have to wonder why?? I know I am not to happy with them I got some type of spotted chickens that are not Delawares. I ordered Delawares, and these may be white but they have big black spots all over them, not Delaware at...
Isn't Monday a Holiday? Around here they Celebrate Easter monday and no mail, no banks open no nothing.
I may end up getting me a card, I try not to get to many cards in my wallet in case if one gets stolen. The local stores around here swipe it like a credit card and people don't have to sign...
Gosh I wish they took Paypal, but they don't I always have plenty of Paypal but I never have it in my bank account lol. Would love to get one of the boxes. Tons of breeds there that I would love to try.
Sounds good though that you all are getting replacements. I sure hope that all of my regular breed ones get here ok. It wont be good if I lose any, since I need exactly what I ordered if my plans go right. I should have gotten the surprise, that way I could have picked out what I wanted and let...
It says on the site about 40 to 45 chicks. However I believe it also has to do with size and weight. If you get more tiny chicks the weight is less. Which means more birds in the box. Where bigger ones, geese, ducks, turkeys in there means less chicks.
There never is much that we can do when chicks are sick. When I would have one that I knew wouldn't make it I would usually hold it until when it was gone. I felt as though that way it knew someone at least gave it love before it passed away. This is why I try not to get to attached to any chick...
That is so sad though that so many of them died. Next year I plan on getting me the surprise. I will have to remember to call them if I lost many, that way they can replace them. I love the fact though that you can get so many different breeds to start trying out.
Hmmm That is strange they told me if I ordered a surprise I would have to wait until May, 1st for it to go out. That is why I went with the regular breeds for my order it was May 12th delivery for them. Still a long wait but I figured I would wait the extra 11 days for what I really needed.
