Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for Silkie/faverolle breeding project I’m starting. I have a white silkie rooster who’s larger than usual. I have a thread on here about him and have been keeping his biggest offspring to try to start a line of LF silkies. I also raise salmon faverolles...
Hello! I have had 16 chickens in total, some have had to be given away, some has sadly passed away. I have 6 chickens, Chester a crazy cackle toppie, Chumi a classic red hen, Cat a black silkie, S'mores a white silkie, Gemini a white silkie, and Munchkin a white silkie. We've had them since June...
What do you think of this white silkie rooster and the silkie hens (one black, one white, and one splash - or is the splash one white with leakage?) They are about 4-5 months on these pictures. I don’t have pictures of their feet, but they all have five toes and feathered feet.
Hi, I have 4 silkies all about 10 weeks old. I think #4 is a girl because her wattle and comb are under developed compared to the others. Any thoughts about the others, all boys? Thanks.
I’ve have an 8 week old white Silkie and silver laced polish. What do you all think on the gender? The Silkie is the dominant one out of the bunch and started crowing a couple days ago. My brother said that his dominant hens crow in the mornings too. The Polish is very calm and not aggressive...
I just jumped on the Silkie train and I’ve been absolutely LOVING the Silkie life. I know the sexing of them is difficult, but they’re starting to show more of their nature and I thought it would be fun to see what everyone thinks the genders are? Check out the attachments!
I have:
1 large...
i realize they are a bit young but here are Butternut (white) and Squash (black). Butternut is the younger of the two at 8 Weeks, and this bird has done some play fighting with my sebright cockerel. Comb is just a single small ridge poking up for now. It is inquisitive and scratches and forages...
I was told by the breeder that I got these two silkies from that they were both blue silkies. One is 5 months old (first three photos) & one is 6 weeks old (last two photos).
I am very new to owning chickens and really don't know much about silkie coloring. But...aren't these white and not blue...
I have 3 silkies I got in late February. So about 9 weeks old-ish. I believe the white and one of the buffs are cockerels. And the one I believe to be the pullet is mixed cause of the way her wings look.. any clarification would be greatly appreciated!
Pullet?
Feathers have a dark splotch...

I need to downsize my chickens. I'm located in Lillington, NC. I'll be able to meet locally but I can't ship at this time. I can provide pictures of the parents to these chickens upon request. I have the following chickens for sale:
A first generation blue Showgirl hen
$20
She will be two years...
She May Be Small, But She Can Still Get Her Head in the Bucket to Eat!
This is my 6 1/2 week old white silkie eating out of the feed bucket I made for my chickens. I do have feed at a lower location, but she prefers eating like the others do!
So my two silkies, Friz and Porg, are four months (at a guess) old now, and still no guess on their gender. I'm keeping them either way, but I would like to know your thoughts? I think both may be pullets, otherwise my OEGB rooster Gary, would have attempted to fight with them by now(he's...
Just wondering what the color of the comb of a blue silkie and white silkie is? I can’t pinpoint which one or two are crowing. But I think it’s the one with a black waddle and no comb. I have two with black waddles and one with red comb and waddle.
I posted earlier about my 14 week old silkie who could very well be a boy. This is a second silkie...same question. She is slightly damp in the pictures because i tried to wash her feet off. I got this one today as a trade for my polish cockerel that I had to re-home. They think this white...
I have Two 5/wk old silkies. A white, and a partridge. I am remaining hopeful that the partridge is a pullet, but what do y’all silkie experts think about the started comb development on the white one?
Thank you very much for your time.
Hi everyone,
We have a 6 month old White Silkie who appears to be broody. I will first off say, we LOVE having our girls. We purposely got silkies and other frequently broody breeds so we could have them do the raising job for us. It also seems to us that letting them sit on eggs is more...
