L2 @Obsessed With Silkies and F8 @Mrs J are pipped! I am exhausted so I think I’ll compromise and sleep on the couch where I can hear them if anything happens.

Woke up. There are EIGHT babies in the incubator, plus one mid-zip!
So far hatched:
F5, F10, O1, O2, O3, L1, B1 & B2. E2 is mid-zip.

L2, F3 & F8 are pipped.

Waiting on F9, L3, and E1 to pip. The only 3 eggs that lost over 14% weight. I don’t think it’s a coincidence!

As I’m writing, E2 is out!

Here are some (bad) pics. Should I leave everyone in until the pips hatch? Or can I grab them later if the pips don’t look any bigger? (They are super small holes right now).

Wow!!!! So many babies before day 21!!!!!

They are all so cute!!! Can't wait to see individual pics of them.

Opening it quick with pips should be fine. My broody got off the egg yesterday after it pipped and went out quick to poop, get food and water and dust bathe. Baby was fine.

Congratulations I would probably leave them in since the eggs have pipped….unless the chicks start playing rugby with them if you open quickly they will be fine

It's just.... how do you know which one is Minty...?

I would take out only the chicks that are completely and totally fluff-dried. It will help the ones that are still in the shell to hear someone, but you can keep them from getting too crowded if they are good and dry.
