Nuture Right 360- Shoe String Method

Update: 16 days left. The humidity has been running a bit high at 50% to 56% at the highest. I think this has to do with the cotton shoelace. I have only gone down about a 1/3 to 1/4 of the way down of the large olive jar of water. I have had to pull the shoe lace out once for 1/2 /the day because humidity was too high. I hope I have a better hatch rate with these chicks than last year.

I had to pull the shoestring out again tonight as the humidity got to 56%.

Do you remember what your humidity ran with the Polyester lace?

Also, is your weather more humid this time of year vs. last time you hatched?

Just curious.

I can get really humid here.

I live in Oregon. So it rains a lot here. Last time I hatched I don't think it was this cold and rainy. I need to take more photos of the humidity on the incubator that will help for next time.

Update: 7 days into the incubation period. I have had to take the cotton shoestring out 2x. Each time I took it out I had to add more water the next morning. As the humidity would go from 56% to 58% all the way down to ~30%.

The shoestring is in the channel. Originally it was all of the way in the channel. But now I have it only partially in.
I add more water when the humidity gets to 30% and it wicks the rest.
