What are your thoughts on Greenfire Farms?

I would be down to get some breeding stock from them at some point. Would love to be the first in my state to breed Dethlayers. They look cool!

I've never purchased from GF. They have a breed I would like but I found a smaller scale breeder in another state for far less $.
I'm all for saving money for something I want.... even chicken breeds.... but I'll still stretch my dollars as far as I can

If they are an original importation, they are. Unless someone bypassed importation rules and snuck some eggs in.

Doubt it.
They probably just have the largest reputation and marketing.

I looked into importation. It is really not that hard.
And the process is a ton faster with eggs.

For those that suspect some breeds are fake, I refer you to 3 pages from The Feather Site. While it isn't a complete list, it has most of the chicken breeds in the world. Perhaps half or even a majority don't exist in the US. So if we haven't heard of them, it doesn't mean they don't exist.

In my opinion they're way too expensive! They put a rare breed on the market, charge a lot of money for it and when everyone has one and the popularity goes down all of a sudden the price goes down along with it
That might not be true I'm just joking, but I think $200 is too much for one chicken...

I won a few Ayam's once and I do love them (they're just like any chicken, though) but I wouldn't buy them for that much, or sell them to someone for that much.

the green fire farms birds are WAY overpriced.... not even show quaility, yet there breeds like polish can run you 100 bucks for a strait run chick.
