🐣🐄Black Copper Marans and Whiting True Blues. Lots of videosšŸŽ„

I should say I selected out of 79 total eggs... 38 round ones that are predicted pullets... and 5 pointy ones that are predicted male.
And your separating these into hatching bags, and leg banding for test results?
These 5 are from the pure Black Copper Marans that I picked up from the local farm. I'm hoping to get a decent rooster out of those big dark eggs.
Hopefully you get a few to select thru. šŸ‘

Thats the plan. I need to find my leg bands I bought a year ago and haven't used. I did get hatching bags, they seem kind of tight fitting, so I'm looking for some small plastic crates or containers to wrap the bag around. Something like this.

I hooked up this bright craftsman light with a rubber tip from a walking cane. Bright mofo. Looks like I have 7 out of 8 true blue eggs are alive and kicking. One was a blood ring. I’ve been having fertility issues with that one particular hen so 7 out of 8 is good. I might still be able to preserve my wtb flock with these chicks.

I need to find something similar also or do dividers. The wife don't like the hatching bags too much when I use them, she thinks it constricts the chicks too much.

The only ones I am concerned about marking are the pure black copper marans chicks. I want to make sure I can tell the difference between them and the F1 Olive eggers. The easter eggers are all under a broody hen, so I don't have to worry about those getting mixed with the incubator chicks, and the whitings should look different than marans.
I have a quick project list of getting a friend's chain link dog kennel and fixing it up for a brooder coop for these 2 broody hens to raise the chicks in. Not sure if I can make it happen in time for the chicks.

I was more wondering how the round egg female, pointy egg male experiment goes. 🤨

I stuffed all the EE/OEs in the 360 at lockdown. Their a week old now and a few are showing lots of color.
