I’m awake early, because one of the chicks started chirping and I had to know who it was. I rubbed its belly and back, very gently and it started to fall asleep.

Seven eggs in 2 days! I know that is nothing for some of you, but I only have 5 hens, and three of them are over 7 years old!

That is a great haul. If we get 5 in 2 days we are thrilled. Aster and Lady Featherington are really our only consistent layers. And yes, we get done odd ones from the older ladies too. I can't believe Hattie is still laying.
