Beak clips- has anyone used them?

We have tried everything to prevent our hen who has a wound she keeps pecking and our running out of options. Has anyone used beak clips? Some call them spectacles. I heard that they can still eat and drink with them on, but would it prevent them from opening a wound? Any advice is appreciated.

There are a number of videos on how to apply them, if you do a search. They have a tool that comes with them, but some just skip the tool and apply them with fingers. If you can figure out which chicken is doing the pecking or feather picking, you can just use the peepers on that one, instead of the whole flock.
