So this little girl is roughly 4 weeks old and is supposed to be a Cream Legbar (Hoover Hatchery chick from Cal Ranch) and obviously, supposed to be a girl. She was dark, had very clear chipmunk markings when she was small, etc.

But, she's always had a bit of an odd comb. Has anyone seen a comb like this before on a Cream Legbar? It almost looks like a very weird pea comb regular comb hybrid.

It's a bit more pink on top on this picture because she got a bit more sun than usual today 😂

Thoughts on my little oddball?

Thanks for the input! They charged me Legbar price so that's a bit annoying if he/she isn't.

Couple more pics of her two weeks ago, and the day we got her. I should note she's actually probably closer to 5 weeks, tail feathered in very quickly, and general carriage seems pullet-like, at least to me. I have had a surprise roo before, so I know it's not out of the question. I just hope not.

Looks male to me. An absolute cutie though!

I have two pullets and only now after almost six months of age, have they grown the start of a comb. They are also showing a lot of interest in the nest, so I suspect they are reaching the Point Of Lay.

Appreciate the input! 🙂

I'm hesitant to say yay or nay either way but it's always good to get opinions, since, previously, I have had an Australorp chick that had very red wattles and a larger pinkish comb at 6-8 weeks, and she ended up being a hen, a very large hen, but a hen nonetheless

And had a very, very slow feathering sapphire gem with a wonky comb I was almost positive was going to be a roo. She's now a freeloader hen who doesn't lay eggs except for an occasional soft one, but she's cute so she's forgiven

Definitely not a legbar. Single combs are recessive, so it's not like a single combed breed can't "hide" another comb type that might pop up unexpectedly. The comb and wattles combined with the uneven/blotchy colors on the chest are making me lean boy, but I'm not 100% sold.
