crows a pest or a predator

we dont have hawks here but if crows ganged up would they kill a chicken?

It seems you are still very concerned after the respinses already given so it may be best for your own peace of mind not to free range your birds when you are not on hand to asdure yourself they are not being distressed by crows

Crows do not hunt. They are opportunists that feed mostly off plant matter an carrion At times they've been spotted raiding nests for eggs or defenseless hatchlings, and a mouse can make a nice snack, but they dont really bother with any adult birds - too much work and theyre poorly equipped for hunting.

At 25 weeks your birds will be fine, I've never heard of crows hurting chickens.

If you want to chase them off, most crows are easily spooked by noises and movement, things like windchimes or CDs spinning in the wind. There are lots of tips online because they can be quite a nuisance to some people.

No. It's called a murder of crows but they don't commit it, they merely group to feed on kills as scavengers.

We've more Raven than crows on this old farm land. Not a worry at all. Northern Harrier Hawk is another story...for a smaller hawk it's quite aggressive. Red tail abound here but it's the Harrier that attacks our full grown cockerels.
