The FIRST buff chick ever hatched yesterday!

I am still ecstatic as I've been trying since February. The buff rooster I had in there must've been too young, or just couldn't manage to do it right, and the other one I have is his sibling so figured the same thing with him. I waited to get the lemon cuckoo rooster from Bobbi Porto, Florida, and after he acclimated to Wisconsin, I put him (Lester) in with the three buff hens. Seeing a lot of infertiles with him too, but yesterday, history was made here! ❤️ One made it! Should be many more in the future!

Congratulations, Debby! Are we hoping for another cockerel?

O
My
Gosh
🥰

Now that’s very cute! Congratulations!

Did you try giving vent trims?? Thats the only thing I can think may help?
I did that with a few of my other hens who have extremely fluffy butts! I noticed when the Roo was breeding them I couldn’t see his vent or the ladies!

Did a trim and I found the old boy spent less time groping around. Looks rather rude but did the job (yes I did feel like a pervert peeking at their undercarriage 🤭🫣).
