Is there another friendly hen you can put in with her? I had my hen Kitty with Ginger, Kitty was recovering from a hawk attack at the time.

Im not sure about frequency of molasses flush, I gave my hen Big Red straight nutri drench almost every day via dipping her beak into it. I also forced hardened chuncks.of coconut oil and cooked ground meat, tried to get high calorie stuff into them when they're not eating.
I do have another hen that's nice that I could put with her. She'll jump all over everything in my laundry room! Probably poop everywhere haha. She's my most nosey hen.

I've been giving nutridrench but diluted as part of the water. All of my chickens hate the taste of nutridrench; won't even drink the water that I put only 2 or 3 drops in. So I'll force a few direct nutridrench drops in her mouth.

Sometimes mine with eat chunks of coconut oil on her own. So that's nice.

They all just woke up. No changes to her this morning. She's still lethargic. It seems my efforts are not working. 😔 I'm going to try the molasses and see what happens.

They will pick on her if they know something is wrong with her.
I wouldn't worry about pecking order. If she gets through this you can put her back in and remove the one or two bullies. Then they lose their spot. Right now she's not feeling well but has to use energy to keep up appearances and potentially defend herself.

The molasses flush usually works on the first try if you get enough in her. But if it didn't work or wasn't enough then I would focus on getting as much into her within a couple of hours so it's potent enough to do the job. The molasses flush cleans out the gizzard and there should be a decent amount of poop.

Food isn't a priority as whatever she eats will just sit in her crop and ferment.

The only time I had an issue reintegrating was with a hen that had a broken wing. She was out of the group for a couple of weeks, then the wing was rebroken. It was right where it connects to the body and my rooster was standing on it to mate her. She refused to let him on and he wouldn't let her back with the flock. So he got re-homed.
Should I still put her back out at night to roost? Or just keep her in the laundry room for the entire mending duration? And would you suggest I bring a partner in the laundry room with her? Or just her alone?

Is there something I'm supposed to be giving her for the fermenting in the crop? I've been giving the miconozole for alleged sour crop, but that's for yeast. Should I try and combat fermenting as well?

UPDATE: her crop is no longer water balloon-like. Now it's back to being moldable doughy. It seems to be the same size. I can feel hard pieces at the bottom of the crop. Possibly grit or scratch from a few days ago that's still sitting in there. Not eating or drinking. Just lays down or stands with eyes closed. Panting most of the time. Still preening. Today will be the 3rd day of miconozole twice a day.

The molasses flush is usually given one time. It's one teaspoon molasses in one-fourth cup water. It's usually not hard to get a chicken to drink it after you dip their beak a couple times and they discover how sweet it is. Chickens like sweet tastes as much as we do.

This flush is usually give after the miconazole treatment is finished. For any chicken too weak or too stubborn to drink the solution on their own, you can syringe or tube it into the crop. This shows where you insert the syringe or tube.

Could you tell if a decent amount of poop came out of her? Or if the molasses might have flushed the water out of her....

@Eggcessive & @azygous

The sour crop is most likely due to a straw impaction. Would you still wait until the Miconazole treatment is finished?

@Yellow321
Personally I would just keep her in the laundry room by herself.

I would keep her familiar with the flock and they with her. You can let her roost with them at night unless you are doing treatments. But be careful to watch behavior for pecking, and be there first thing in the morning. Or instead, you could bring her out with them for a little supervised get together every day. It helps to keep her part of the flock, since reintegration is very hard if they forget her. For more than a week it can be difficult. At the least, I would bring in a docile friend to spend time with her. It sounds more like an impacted crop than sour crop, if it is doughy and grains felt. An impacted crop will eventually turn sour after time.

If you believe you have a crop full of straw or grass, then it's most likely impacted as @Eggcessive mentioned. That requires coconut oil, lots of it, and crop massage to treat. Give a teaspoon of chilled coconut oil every hour, all of it, you won't overdose her. Follow it by massage for a minute or two, or five, trying to break up the solid mass so it works itself out of the crop.

Then watch her poop for volume and signs of grass in it. Usually the oil produces large poop with a few hours. You'll know the crop is clearing when it doesn't fill up again with fluid.

I've tried coconut oil and massages for a few days now. Nothing. Barely any poop. And when she does it clear liquid with some green. I honestly suspect she's stopped up in her gizzard. And therefore stopped up in her crop.
