I have a rooster who was in a pen by himself Due to being new and I didn’t want him with my other roosters because I have too many and I was going to offer to one of my friends. Anyway one of my other roosters Keep on until he broke the lock and Got after the new rooster. There was no blood at all but his head was bruised because of feathers being pulled out and whipping with wings! When I picked him up both his eyes were open but I could tell they were bothering him so I instantly flushed them out and then put Terramycin in them because I could tell they were irritated and possibly damaged. Several times a day I come out and put the medicine in his eye like it requires. One is completely open back up and seems to Be doing fine. The other one keeps sealing shut. Every time I put the medicine in I work with it get it back opened up to put the medicine in. I’m not getting it opened a big crack but I am getting it opened enough to get the medicine in there. From what I can see it looks like the eyes intact with no problem. But I cant really tell. Now my question is should I continue to force they are open or should I just put the medicine on the outer lid and just keep applying it hoping that it’ll loosen back up. Or should I give up thinking that the eye is gone. I’m just not sure what to do because I know it’s uncomfortable for me to have to work with the eye to get it basically unglued to open. Any suggestions would help.
