I have a goldfish and a danio in a 40 gallon tank I think?? Something around 40 gallons anyway. How many plecos can I get for my tank? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for a different type of algae eater? (Just NOT snails lol...They suck...No hate to my passed snails Rocky and Snaily Man though lol.)
What about Cory cats?

Goldfish tanks should be species only. They will try and eat anything they can fit in their mouth and have been known to get stuck or impaled on plecos. If it's a small pleco like a dwarf bristlenose they could potentially both be killed if the pleco gets stuck.
Goldfish also produce a ton of waste which can be very problematic for more sensitive fish with the nitrate swings.
I've seen goldfish tanks where they have absolutely lovely algae carpets with crystal clear water, you could try cultivating your algae depending on what kind you have.
If you have brown algae it's typically too much food/waste debris, blue green is bacteria, and bright green can be too much light.

It seems to me that I have just dark green algae?? Their tank isn't ever in sun, only indirect sunlight. I was maybe considering a bigger pleco, because my goldfish's mouth definitely isn't big enough to eat one.

Are they good with algae control? :)
I had a couple of Albino Bristlenose plecos. They don't get huge like common plecos.

But they liked making babies!

Nerite snails do an excellent job, but don't reproduce in fresh water.
Oh my gosh!!!! That is A LOT of babies!! Is it possible for me to get just one? lol

You can get 0. Common plecos anyway. What species of danio?
I honestly have no idea, all I know is that he looks kinda like this guy but with a bit greener than blue stripes...
