Rob, did you literally mean a stick? I can throw a Willow stick in the ground and 5 yrs later it will be a big tree…

I would love to plant a magnolia at the barn in the chickens run. They are lovely shade trees with their big leaves.

I don't know who Rob is.......but......I will answer. It was no bigger than a stick stuck in the ground when we bought the house. I have a photo somewhere, I will look for it.

It did have roots. They don't work like a willow stick.

We had big storms and some tornados on Sunday (nothing bad in my area but there were 3 deaths and 3 injuries down in Kalamazoo county ), and there's a chance of isolated tornados again tomorrow. Tis the season... My dad loves severe weather, I also enjoy a good storm but I'm terrified of tornados.

It never got bad enough for me to go inside (I was watching out in the garage) but the tornado sirens were going off. We got a couple big gusts of wind and a huge downpour of rain, nothing worse. Hopefully tomorrow is the same.

Actually, the last tornado we had come through here knocked down some trees and power lines on our road but as far as I know there wasn't any damage to homes or people. It was a couple summers ago, August 2023. I was in the basement for that one

After the storm. The sky was really pretty. Lots of neighbors came by to clear the road where the trees fell right near our driveway.

Chick Update

Nimue is a little ahead of the other chick. She is already getting on top of the heater and easily stands in the food.

I will confess to cropping out some fingers, feet, and half chickens to achieve a two-fer.

We've been pretty safe here during the storms. It's been wreaking havoc on my inner ears and sinuses though, woke up with vertigo this morning.
I was going to wait another week, but the chicklets keep escaping so they will be moving to the big bird coops in a couple days. At least one escapes every time I open the little coop door!
Kiddo is very happy seeing the new pompoms at @BY Bob home.

Twofer, I went to take pictures and Marble went and hid behind Buffy!

I dreamt I brought Cooper back into the flock and after an initial showdown with Ralphie, Ralphie winning, it worked out. I hope that was revelation!!!
