Mug Monday?!

Esme saying goodmorning today... Or probably more accurately "PLEASE let me up on your shoulder, I PROMISE I won't peck your eyeballs and fart in your face! And my feet only have a LITTLE bit of poop on them!"

Yeah, no more shoulder perching for my birds anymore

This was yesterday but I can't not share my cuddle sesh with Magrat

My sweet little runt lady

And just because MY birds can't shoulder perch anymore doesn't mean a wild chickadee can't!

This was just 20 minutes ago. Sweet little thing, I can't tell if it's sick, injured, molting... The fact that it lets me get really close to it and even pick it up without any fuss has me worried I hope it's just stunned or something

Michigan isn't that far....

Definitely too far for me to travel, I can't drive and we're a 1 car household. And we have no space for a rooster yet And no money! It's just not in the stars... Sigh...

can you take a picture of his side? How old is he?

It was the barred pattern that tipped me off, Midnight Majesty Marans are a hybrid cross of Black copper Maran Roo on barred rock hens. Makes a bird that should be colour sexed. Males barred females solid.

So when Shirley started popping spots and an awesome set of wattles and comb I started freaking out.

Hatch date is 28 May, that’s 15 weeks.

I will have to get some updated photos.

I live on the west side of Michigan. I guess I could navigate rivers and stuff until I get to the east side and out onto Lake Ontario
