Do hens babysit (or egg sit) for each other?
Tassels just went tearing back to her nest after my forced outing. She saw Piglet in the nest (laying an egg I assume) and turned around and came back out for some more self-care.

Mine do.

I did bring her in too. I’m borrowing Nacho to be a nanny for the seven little ones.

It's currently 82°F (28°C). I am sitting out with the ladies under the magnolia tree for the first time this year. Blueberries have been devoured. Now it is on to grass.

Nice! I am envious I hope you have a lovely relaxing time.

I just brought the horses in they were very cold and wet. I told the chooks forget it, no going outside, you're dry now so stay in! Lots of whining but it's really just miserable out there.

Under a freezing rain warning but we are 'just' on the plus side of zero here so it's just plain old rain - so far.

More of the same for tomorrow, it's a little early for April Showers bringing May flowers! Meanwhile my sister has had no power most of the day, she has the freezing rain part. Just east of here near Ottawa it's lots of snow - Canadian Wind sent me a text with the snow she has, about 8" of it! I told her 'keep it please!'. Seems her ducks love it, the chooks not so much!

I should have read through all the comments before responding. I'm so glad you brought her in too. It will be much better for the chicks to be raised by her.

Now I have a problem. How do I name these chicks when all the good Nacho born names are taken?
Taco, sopas, burrito, quesadilla, …
I’m not sure I will go that route this time around.
