Buttercup looks pretty close, combined with v. However, none of the breeds listed have a buttercup comb
I just tried a search "what is the genetic break down of a Buttercup chicken comb?"

The links that get into details on v-comb, Buttercup, strawberry, etc go deep enough that I WILL NOT be doing any translating into layman's English at this time as I'm still digesting/struggling to make sense of them. Hopefully it will click eventually.

Everyone say hello to 2 new members of the FBA community!

The breeder let us know their were day-olds available last night at 8 pm. I spoke to them this morning at 8:30. The place was 90 minutes away by car. When we got there there were 5 left. These two appear to be pullets, fingers crossed. They are Polish barnyard mixes. I have no idea what they will look like when they grow up.

They have applied themselves to trying to jump up on the top of their heater.

Everyone say hello to little Nimue. The first to make it to the top.

Mottled polish?! Oh, be still my heart! Thing 1 & 2 minus the beard and extra toe! (The black back on the yellow body usually feathers out that way). Now I'm biting my nails waiting to see if they live up to that

The total is still zero applying choice math.

Name the other one Victoria.

At one point we had the smallest blue bowl in that set as well. So many dishes have met their ends in our Ceramic sink. One thing I have personally learned after mom and dad redid the countertops and sinks 15 years ago. If I had to do it, I will never, ever have another ceramic sink. Stainless steel all the way.
Why not ceramic? I would love one of those.

Yesterday was the first day Sybil skipped laying! That means she laid 123 eggs in a row without a break! I got another egg from her today. I don't know who laid the thin-shelled egg but all eggs were normal yesterday so fingers crossed it was just a one time glitch!

Here's a video from the other day. Gytha was a little bit ornery 😆

There's nothing like a pushy broad, eh?!
