These GOSHDARN birds.
Yeti is splattered with blood. Periwinkle has a bloody spot on her comb (yeti was not bloody when I saw that spot this morning) and Goldiebird has blood on his face too? I can't wait to move them to have more space, they're all wing to wing in the coop right now and it's supposed to be icy tonight.

My gosh that is very worrisome.

She is a silver Welbar. But they aren’t supposed to look like that. The breeder was flummoxed when I showed him a picture.

Sylvie looks very much silver welbar to me ~ Silvers can look quite different from light silver to some darker gray shading ~ just lovely. Sylvie's gorgeous

My gosh that is very worrisome.

If there's a break in the storm enough for me to set up the coops, they'll go out tomorrow. I can figure out a mounting/roof system for the port feeder and nipple waterer later. I just won't have open food or water that could get contaminated. The run is repaired, enough for them to use at least.

That's good news. Cramped spaces are not good.

The thing that had the breeder flummoxed is that Sylvie’s underlying color is basically white. No sign of the characteristic blush on the chest or brown (I am sure there is an official name for the color) on her back. She is not just a pale version of what she is supposed to look like.
Breeder had never seen a Welbar like her and I was a tad worried he would want her back to breed from her!

She had a fun day out and about today. She doesn’t seem to be caught up in the pecking order battles going on between Calypso and Piglet.
