The thing that had the breeder flummoxed is that Sylvie’s underlying color is basically white. No sign of the characteristic blush on the chest or brown (I am sure there is an official name for the color) on her back. She is not just a pale version of what she is supposed to look like.
Breeder had never seen a Welbar like her and I was a tad worried he would want her back to breed from her!

Her coloring is stunning, idk what happened in the genetics but it turned out to be very eye catching, cant say I have seen one quite like her.

Hey I came across this picture not here but on the web. I thought it might spark some interest, I know I keep going back to it and scratching my head.

The Rooster is a Chimera, it is both a Black Copper Maran and a Barred Rock. Nature is crazy sometimes!

Cadet or Delft
Love all the variety of colors and feather patterns, can’t wait to see them grow and see what their adult feathers end up looking like.

Diligent gardening. They had more success than me. I am trying to get rid of the wild roses in their area because of the thorns. I am pretty sure that is how poor Babs got bumble foot.
Those roses are impossible to dig up. They have thick underground runners.
Not sure what to do.

I love rose flowers but not rose bushes. I never plant them. To remove, tackle one plant at a time per day... soak the ground at the plant root. Trowel a canal circle around the plant & fill w/ water to soak the plant roots. Wait 15-20 minutes for water to soak into the ground & repeat filling the canal to soak again.

After a 1/2 hour or more the dampened soil will be easy enough to loosen at the plant roots. The leaders get smaller leading away from the bush & can be soaked too & followed along to dig up. I never expect any kind of gardening to be easy. Took me 4 years to do the front yard & 4 yrs for the back ~ removing old plants, weeds, trash, leveling the ground, planting shade citrus trees & water-saving succulents & laying w/ paver stones.
