Silkies are one of the best chickens we've ever had...they are considered medium size chickens like Polish & listed in the APA...not the bantam ABA standard. Do we assume the Queen thinks APA Polish are not chickens either?

Made it through the day without too much damage. All the chooks seem happy this evening. The little ones are under their mama. The other birds are heading to the coop. The roo is doing his job as escort. Even CeeCee seems like she’s feeling better.

Glad to hear about CeeCee . Anytime one of our hens goes broody or ready to lay or moult, they get weird like frumpy, or agitated, or loss of appetite & like all the rest of us we wonder whenever these out-of-the-norms happen. Rest relaxed now.

Yup Polish are also ‘not chickens’ HRH states - I feel Her Majesty is mistaken - but what do I know I am but a mere Hooman.

A Bath and a Drink

Nimue is dustbathing. Unfortunately I have been sick and missed the 2 day window without rain too get them some dirt. It has been raining all day and will all weekend. I may get some mud and try to dry it out.

Here she is dustbathing and drinking.
