I’m wondering if God put STP (engine performance lubricants)
In their DNA, because they are so fast and not your normal chicken breed. It’s the jungle that has not been bred out of them I guess. Even the babies have mamma’s traits and bite me. I let them bite, maybe they are strengthening their beaks like all babies do with their teeth. :idunno
The smaller the species the faster they seem to move. I'm amazed how fast baby garden spiders skitter when I try to step on one. The baby spiders are even too fast for our eagle-eye hens to catch.

Tiny Button Quail run really fast:

Seems like my littles are faster!
Mama is not the boogie hen she was made out to be. Actually she’s kind of sweet, and when she bites me it’s not that “rip your face off “ kind, but a soft “no clamp down” kind of thing. The kiddos are testing me and learning every day what I will tolerate and what I won’t tolerate!
Fun raising wild jungle fowl game chooks.

image.jpg Look at these legs!

I wonder if that one is a cockerel. A video showed that cockerel chicks hold their legs straight out/down & pullets draw their legs up/closer to their abdomen? Do you have any guesses?
Not a clue as to the gender of these little ones. That one little, is my buddy. Always wants to be with me. On my head, on my shoulder, crawling into my pocket.
Just amazing.

If that one is a boy and integrates with Mr W, you have one of the most alert sentries ever. The little guys are such hawk alarms!

Mr. Wyandottey wouldn’t know the difference if another roo grew up with our tribe. Mr. Wyandottey is so laid back  he wouldn’t even care. He needs help with the ladies he already has.

He’s so laid back, I have entertained the idea of buying him a surfboard 🏄
