Good morning! It’s windy +7C more like an Autumn day.

Yesterday afternoon I managed to prune my plum trees and made a start on the peach tree - need a ladder for that one!

Missy likely won’t want to be outside today, calling for rain.

We had a windy day yesterday but very chilly. Hope you have someone to hold the ladder steady before climbing. Trimming trees while on a ladder should be a 2 person job for safety. Even my DH doesn't like an unstable ground ladder when both arms are reaching to prune limbs!
Bumble Foot callus/scab

This is the callus I removed from Muffy’s foot. I dressed it with some polysporin ointment and a bandage afterwards but she managed to half remove it yesterday afternoon. I removed it and the wound had already scanned over. This morning it look nice and dry and healing. I’ll keep an eye on it and re-dress it if it looks irritated.

This is the callus - note it has a kernel which I am sure was the issue makimg her lame.

The bottom of the callus was smooth.

Just another note: I have seen these calluses on many of the chooks feet and no lameness noted.
I dealt 3 yrs in a row w/ bumblefoot w/ our Dominiques before discovering how they got it...perching/snoozing on the edges of both their sandbox cedar border & the rough cement garden bed borders!
